What i've learned from fashion of Viet celebrities!!!

As a normal girl, i care much about my appearance. I don’t wear make up but I buy lots of clothing and accessory. Actually, I am not comfortable with myself spending too much time surfing fashion websites, reading fashion magazines and then shopping around anytime.

After a while, I find myself go to websites such as: 2sao.vietnamnet.vn, ngoisao.net, eva.vn, kenh14.com very often just to look at celebrities and read about their rumors or watch their beautiful (or unbeautiful) dress. I was wondering what can I learn from them? Why I am addicted to these websites. Then I realized that I was just entertaining my ego. There’s nothing to learn there, even just to upgrade my sense of fashion.

Vietnamese celebrities are willing to buy branding stuffs and wearing them to events. But they are not smart enough to choose the stuffs which match their skin, their personality or simply match the event that they are invited to. Their choices usually don’t reflect any message about themselves except a desperate wish to stand out from the crowd.

The worst are mid-age ladies who are said to be powerful, and beautiful. But it's hard to say so when you look at what they wear to events. The ladies must think that it' impossible to be a star without wearing heavy make up and lots of jewelry.

Let’s talk a bit about so called "super models" in Vietnam. I don't know why many of them have a so "normal" belly. And if they are not smart enough to train themselves to have a small waist, do you think they would be good at dressing up. No, you are right.

Traditional Viet guys think that girls dress up just to attract man's attention. But I think there are lots of girls out there wearing smart firstly to define themselves in this world. However, more and more Viet celebrities define themselves as sexy girls by wearing extreme revealing dresses. That’s why it's so hard for traditional man to change their mind.

Viet teenage are better at catching up with updated fashion I guess. I don’t read their magazines which are full of advertisements, but at least look at the way they copy style of Korean singers, hopefully they won’t just look at Viet celebrities but look out to the world to find a better way.

Lady Gaga got a style that hard to comprehend but she got everyone attention because there’s one solid message through all her costumes. I love Jolie because her daily outfit is usually grey, black or white, simple but elegant. Her choices on red carpet also reflect her very strong spirit. I can see and feel other international stars also got their very own style.

In my opinion, fashion is frivolous, especially in Vietnam. The country is still so poor and struggling to find the way to a better future. 70% of Viet population is farmer and their daily issue is food, basic education and medical services, but not clothing. And it’s kind of guilty to see myself run after this dress or those shoes or reading rubbish websites of celebrities. Understand these websites are part of entertainment industry and as many other industries in Vietnam, it lack of everything from management skills to a direction of development.

Instead of criticizing Viet celebrities or the website about them, what I should do is to discipline myself. Only can I prevent myself from being poisoned by what I look at. That’s the reason for this blog post, to alert myself.
